Invisible Solutions

Invisalign is an effective, modern method of orthodontic treatment that uses clear plastic aligners to move teeth into position. These aligners are virtually invisible, removing the self-conscious feeling associated with traditional braces. Invisalign braces look like thin sports mouth guards and sit over your teeth, making for a discrete treatment option. They’re removable and virtually invisible to those around you.

Clear, removable and comfortable, many of our patients tell us that they love Invisalign because it doesn’t interfere with their day to day life. It’s difficult to detect thanks to its clear plastic design, so you can smile with confidence during and after your treatment. Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign can be removed at meal time, so you can eat and drink as you normally would. In fact, studies have shown that it can be better for your dental hygiene during treatment too. With no metal or sharp edges, Invisalign is comfortable to wear even for those with allergies.

Can I be treated with Invisalign?

Our experienced orthodontists can suggest Invisalign to correct most orthodontic problems. It is also available for teenagers in the form of Invisalign Teen. At your free adult consultation, your orthodontist will advise whether Invisalign could be an effective treatment option for you.

How does Invisalign work?

Step 1.

The Invisalign treatment journey starts with a free Invisalign consultation, carried out by one of our experience orthodontists.

Step 2.

Once you are ready to proceed, photos and impressions of your teeth are taken to make study models. Radiographs are also taken and submitted to Invisalign to begin the process of creating your own totally personalised brace.

Step 3.

The Invisalign lab scans the study models and uploads all records into computer software for analysis. We show you a video simulation before treatment begins which demonstrates how the teeth will move through out treatment. You’ll begin your journey fully informed and confident in how your treatment will develop.

Step 4.

Following the video, a series of custom made aligners designed to fit you specifically is created. Each aligner is slightly different, moving your teeth gradually into the desired position. Each aligner will be worn for one to two weeks, before moving on to the next aligner in the series.

Treatment length will vary depending on your individual treatment plan, but you should expect an average of six to 12 months. For patients looking for fixed braces orthodontic treatment, we offer many other braces systems such as traditional braces (metal and clear), Damon self-ligation and Lingual braces.

Step 5.

Your orthodontist will arrange a progress review every four to six weeks. At this appointment, you will receive your new aligners, moving your teeth little by little, week by week, until they reach the desired position.

Step 6.

The length of your orthodontic treatment can be greatly reduced with Acceledent Optima. This is a fast, safe and gentle way to speed up orthodontic treatment by as much as 50%. Your orthodontist will be able to give you more information if this is suitable for your treatment needs.
